SDDR-33 SecureMate™ Driver

If you're not sure what file you should download, find out more about file formats below. After downloading your driver, read through the driver installation notes located at the bottom of the screen.

File Formats
Exe File: An executable file
Sit File: A compressed Macintosh file

Windows 95/98 driver installation note (EXE file):

  1. Click on name of the driver that you want to download.
  2. Write down the of the name of the file and where this file is going to be saved on your hard drive.
  3. After downloading the file, go to the location it was saved in.
  4. Double click on the file and follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. Do NOT change anything.
  6. After the installation is complete, reboot your computer.
  7. Plug in the SecureMate. It will create a new drive in My Computer.

Windows ME/2000:
Use the native drivers built into ME: 

  1. Unplug the SecureMate.
  2. Go to Start>>Programs>>SecureMate>>Uninstall SecureMate driver.
  3. Go to Start>>Run>>Type in Regedit.
  4. Select (click on plus + sign next to) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
  5. Select (click on plus + sign next to) Enum.
  6. Select (click on plus + sign next to) USB.
  7. Highlight VID_0781&PID_0002 (the PID will be different if there is another SecureMate).
  8. Press delete key, OK to delete entry, close registry editor.
  9. Restart.
  10. Plug the reader into the system.
    Note: Do not install the cd.

Windows XP driver information

  1. Remove all previously installed drivers for the SDDR-33.
  2. Shut down the system.
  3. Connect the reader.
  4. Restart.
  5. XP will install the reader.
  6. Plug a card into the reader and an action menu will appear.

NOTE: The driver for the SDDR-33 are native to XP and are already included in the program.

Macintosh driver installation note (SIT file):

  1. Click on the sit file that you want to download.
  2. Write down the name of the file and where this file is going to be saved on your hard drive.
  3. After download is complete go to that location then double click on the icon. 
  4. You need Stuff-it Expander for Macintosh installation. Aladdin Systems Website.
  5. Plug in the SecureMate to the USB port on your computer. 
  6. Insert a SD Card/MutiMediaCard in the slot and you will see the untitled icon on your desktop.

Firmware Update
NOTE:
You will need WinZip to open this file. You can download an evaluation version by clicking here

  1. Make sure the SDDR-33 is plugged into the PC and that no cards are in it.
  2. Click on the file to open it.
  3. Once open in WinZip, double click on the SN032802.exe.
  4. You will see a window saying it is installing then one that says detecting the device (this may take a few minutes).
  5. Next a window saying USB Firmware flashing Utility will open.
  6. Choose Flash SD/MMC.
  7. Click Yes.
  8. A box will pop up when it is finished telling you to disconnect and reconnect the unit. Please safely disconnect and reconnect the unit.
  9. The unit is now updated.
  10. To confirm the unit is updated, you can open the Firmware Flashing utility again and check the Current version box, it should now say 0X0205.
