Extreme III SD™ Memory Card

The SanDisk Extreme III SD card is the card of choice for many leading consumer electronic customers who require a rugged, reliable and removable data storage solution for their SD-enabled devices. A memory card that is no bigger than a postage stamp can quickly transfer large amounts of digital content between different devices.

High Quality and Performance
SanDisk flash memory cards are built with SanDisk non-volatile memory and have no moving parts to wear out or break. Our patented flash memory and controller technologies keep your data reliable under many usage scenarios and environmental conditions. You can trust the SanDisk memory card to provide the ultimate performance for your digital experience.

The SanDisk Extreme III SD card is one of our fastest performing SD cards. The Extreme III SD card has a minimum write and read speed of 20 megabytes per second (MB/sec). This incredibly fast card targets applications where performance is the key feature requirement.

High Capacity
The SD High Capacity (SDHC™) card was created to meet the market demand for higher capacity cards. SanDisk SDHC cards are fully compliant with the new SD Card Specification 2.00. Details on the SDA Specification 2.00 can be found at http://www.sdcard.org.

Starting at 4GB, SanDisk SDHC cards are identical to the standard card in terms of performance and reliability, with a much larger volume of data transfer. The SDHC cards are designed differently and use the FAT32 file systems. SDHC cards can only be recognised by SDHC host devices. Cards that are compliant with SDA Specification 2.00 will have the SDHC logo on the card.

One additional description on the SDHC card is the speed class. The SDHC cards guarantee a minimum sustained data transfer rate. There are three available speed classes – Class 2, Class 4 and Class 6.
